Polygraphstr. 2, 04435 Schkeuditz
Description

Under the patronage of Saxony's Minister-President Michael Kretschmer

mtex antenna technology and the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) cordially invite you to an Open Day event.

When:     Thursday, the 28th of September 2023

Start of the program: 14:00 to 18:00

                             Awaited: 13:00 pm

Where:    mtex facility in Schkeuditz, Polygraphstraße 2

mtex antenna technology was awarded the contract by NRAO & AUI in 2021 to develop, design, and produce the first 18-metre ngVLA prototype telescope.

The next generation Very Large Array (ngVLA) will be the largest radio astronomy facility in the northern hemisphere when constructed in the next decade.
It will be the successor to the Very Large Array, the most productive ground-based astronomical facility of the past 40 years, located in the Plains of San Agustin, New Mexico, USA.  The assembly and testing of the full 18-metre primary backup structure is an important milestone in this revolutionary project.

On this Open Day we will present our cutting edge telescope technology and share valuable insights about the ngVLA project itself. Top scientists from the USA and Germany will deliver remarks and celebrate this exciting collaboration in technological advancement and scientific discovery.

Join us in Leipzig and celebrate the collaboration
between mtex and the ngVLA project!
